Fibre Channel favored for virtual servers: Survey says
Issue: Nov 2008
printer-friendly

Although iSCSI storage is often touted as a good match for virtualized server environments, the majority of respondents to our recent fall Purchasing Intentions survey think Fibre Channel (FC) SANs and virtualized servers make the best pairing. Fifty-two percent of respondents to the survey use FC for their virtualized servers, far ahead of those who choose iSCSI SANs with virtualized servers (12%). And 20% of those surveyed haven't even implemented virtualization on their servers. NAS has won over 9% of respondents for their virtualized servers, while DAS takes last place.
